San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans is considered day-to-day with a rib strain he sustained in Week 3, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported. The team hasn't publicly said what Evans' timetable will be, but Rapoport had noted Sunday he will undergo a full evaluation.
Evans, who was questionable heading into Sunday's Week 3 win over the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium, was hurt on a third-and-10 incompletion from Brock Purdy. He needed help from the training staff to get off the field and was eventually carted to the locker room. Kyle Shanahan said afterward that Evans suffered a rib/oblique injury and that the team wasn't sure yet how serious it was.
Before leaving, Evans had three catches for 34 yards and a touchdown on six targets.
Through three games this season, he has 12 receptions for 137 yards and two touchdowns on 16 targets.
The rib issue is the latest in a string of injuries for San Francisco this season. Evans left Week 2 against Miami with a hip injury, missed practice time early in the week and returned Friday before being listed as questionable. Demarcus Robinson suffered a high ankle sprain, and Ricky Pearsall (knee) and De'Zhaun Stribling (ankle) have also been sidelined. Sunday also cost the 49ers left tackle Trent Williams (stinger) and linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad), who did not finish the game.
