Over the years, we've seen several San Francisco 49ers have their family members players make it to some of the highest levels of their sports, including Jerry Rice's son Brenden, Frank Gore's son Frank and Terrell Owens' son Terique.
Now, another is making his way in the basketball world, as linebacker NaVorro Bowman's son, NaVorro Bowman Jr., is committing to UConn to play for two-time national champion coach Dan Hurley (via ESPN's Adam Schefter).
The former 49ers linebacker spent eight years in the league, mostly with San Francisco and made four All-Pro teams and three Pro Bowls. He's currently serving as the linebackers coach for the Los Angeles Chargers.
According to MaxPreps, the younger Bowman has played 29 games this year for Notre Dame
Varsity, averaging 22.5 points, 5.0 assists 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 steals/blocks per contest.
49ers fans will now have a reason to support the Huskies this year.
