San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been on the reserve/left squad list for about a year now after refusing to show up for the rehab work that the team had planned for him while recovering from a torn ACL.
After reports that Aiyuk finally hired an agent, Drew Rosenhaus, and was filing for reinstatement, the pair showed up at the team's facility Friday afternoon.
Before heading inside, Rosenhaus addressed the media gathered outside their vehicle.
"I appreciate all of you guys showing up," Rosenhaus said (via. Nick Wagoner). "Out of respect to you guys, we'll make this brief. Obviously, Brandon is here to meet with the team. Fortunately, he's feeling good physically. He's healthy. He's ready to get back to work. We don't really have
any comment about where he's going to play. We'll keep that between us and the Niners, but obviously we are here with all the right intentions, and I'll let Brandon say a couple things right now."
Aiyuk also addressed the group.
"Nice to see ya'll," Aiyuk said. "Yeah, I'm feeling great, feeling healthy. It was a long recovery process, a long rehab process, but I'm back to 100% and looking to get reinstated to the National Football League."
The 28-year-old wideout has caught 294 passes for 4,305 yards and 25 touchdowns for the 49ers since they took him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Arizona State. However, he hasn't played in two years, and San Francisco has made it very clear that he won't be playing for them again.
