The San Francisco 49ers are 4-0, and a handful of first-year players are getting noticed along the way.
Four San Francisco rookies earned honorable mention on The Athletic's first All-Rookie team of the 2026 season: Edge rusher Romello Height, running back Kaelon Black, defensive tackle Gracen Halton and linebacker Jaden Dugger.
Height, a third-round pick (No. 70 overall), has played in three games with two starts. He has three tackles, all solo, including one sack. Black, also a third-rounder (No. 90), has carried 31 times for 120 yards (3.9 yards per carry) with a long of 14 yards as Christian McCaffrey's primary backup. He has also caught one pass for five yards.
Halton, a fourth-round selection (No. 107), has been a regular on the interior.
He has played in four games with three starts and has 11 tackles (five solo), two tackles for loss and one pass defended. Dugger, a fifth-round pick (No. 154), has played in four games with two starts and has eight tackles, three of them solo.
It is still early, and The Athletic noted plenty will change between now and the end of the season. Rookie production can swing quickly as snaps, roles and matchups shift week to week, and the 49ers' first-year players will have to keep proving themselves.
For now, though, all four have shown enough early on to earn a nod from one of the sport's most respected draft analysts. How much more they earn from here will depend on how they build on this first month. Height, Black, Halton and Dugger will have the chance to keep growing their roles as the season goes on.
