There were a couple of concerning updates on the San Francisco 49ers practice participation report for Thursday leading up to their Week 2 matchup vs. the Miami Dolphins.
Running back Kaelon Black who led the team in carries Week 1 was listed as a limited participant because of a groin injury after not being on the Wednesday participation report. The severity of his injury is unclear and head coach Kyle Shanahan won't speak with reporters to provide an update until Friday. If Black's injury keeps him out it will mean more work for second-year RB Jordan James who was inactive in the season opener.
The other thing that stands out is kicker Eddy Pineiro missing another practice due to illness. Kickers don't really need to participate in practice the way
other positions do, but it's certainly a little concerning that Pineiro is a non-participant the first two practices of the week. San Francisco didn't sign another kicker to its practice squad which is good news, but this will be worth monitoring.
