The San Francisco 49ers hosted the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium on Sunday for a Week 3 divisional showdown, and Kyle Shanahan's team walked away with a 36-30 win to claim sole possession of the top spot in the NFC West.
San Francisco lost several players due to injuries throughout this contest, but they were able to do just enough to hold on in a hard-fought matchup.
While we work through this game, let's take a look at some of the best performers from this victory.
QB Brock Purdy
Purdy has been phenomenal this year, and that trend continued on Sunday, as he completed 55% of his passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns. He also had a 35-yard rush that would've gone for a score if there wasn't a holding penalty called. There's a legitimate chance that the former
seventh-round pick wins the MVP this year.
RB Christian McCaffrey
McCaffrey was efficient on the ground and had a positive impact in the passing game, as he rushed for 75 yards and a score on 5.0 yards per attempt and caught four passes for an additional 41 yards.
TE George Kittle
It's incredible that Kittle is even playing after suffering a torn Achilles in January. However, the fact that he's playing so well is a testament to his ability. In this game, he caught six passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns. His second touchdown put him in a tie with Vernon Davis for the fourth-most receiving touchdowns in 49ers history.
LB Fred Warner
Warner was everyone on Sunday, recording 17 tackles, including one for a loss and a quarterback hit. 17 tackles is the most that Warner has ever recorded in a game. His previous single-game high was 15, which he did in 2022 and 2024.
