The San Francisco 49ers are getting a wide receiver back for Sunday's game at the Atlanta Falcons.
The team activated receiver Christian Kirk from injured reserve and removed his questionable game status. Kirk signed a one-year deal in March but suffered a calf injury in training camp and began the season on injured reserve. San Francisco opened his 21-day practice window last week, then ruled him out for Monday night's win over the Commanders.
Kirk caught 28 passes for 239 yards and a touchdown in 13 games with the Texans last season. He has 432 catches for 5,415 yards and 30 touchdowns in his eight-year career. His return comes with Ricky Pearsall, De'Zhaun Stribling and Demarcus Robinson still on injured reserve, with Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel
both out for Week 7.
The 49ers also elevated defensive lineman Ogbo Okoronkwo to the practice squad and released defensive lineman Kevin Givens from the practice squad. Okoronkwo (6-2, 253) was a 2018 fifth-round pick of the Rams and was recently released from the 53-man roster. Linebacker Jalen Graham was also elevated.
Graham, a 2023 seventh-round pick out of Purdue, had 10 tackles, including one for a loss, in 14 career games entering 2026. He was also elevated for Week 6 and is a core special-teams contributor.
Givens (6-1, 285) has been with the 49ers since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He appeared in one game this season and recorded two tackles. He has played 70 career games with the team, with 8.0 sacks and 18 tackles for loss.
