The San Francisco 49ers on Saturday let go of a veteran defensive end after just one game.
According to the NFL transaction wire San Francisco released DE Matt Judon in a move that made room for fellow veteran DE Ogbo Okoronkwo.
Judon was up as a practice squad elevation in Week 4 and logged one tackle on 14 defensive snaps.
Injuries on the defensive line forced the 49ers to bring in Judon. With Mykel Williams officially back off the PUP list it gave San Francisco some wiggle room at DE. They released Okoronkwo from the active roster to make room for Williams. Then they re-signed Okoronkwo to the practice squad where Judon became expendable.
