The Los Angeles Rams have officially admitted defeat on their travel plans to Australia to face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1.
San Francisco arrived a full week before their season opener in Melbourne. They looked well-rested while lambasting the Rams who arrived the day before the game. The 49ers looked like the more well-rested team for all 60 minutes, and it was clear the Rams' travel plans played at least some role in the defeat.
LA bounced back in Week 2 and crushed the New York Giants 28-6. They looked much more like the Super Bowl favorite they were supposed to be entering the year. Rams head coach Sean McVay admitted after the Week 2 victory that the travel plans played a role in their Week 1 defeat.
"Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn,"
McVay said. "And sometimes you have a dumbass coach that makes travel plans that put you in a bad spot."
