It sounds like we're nearing a conclusion to the story of San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York's arrest.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter discipline for York from the NFL is expected to come 'soon.' Schefter on Sunday also reported York was in Melbourne, Australia while the team was there for its season opener. York didn't attend the 49ers' 27-7 win at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, however, and there's no plan for him to be in attendance for the team's home opener against the Miami Dolphins at Levi's Stadium. York is aiming to avoid creating a distraction per the report.
It's unclear for now what the NFL's punishment might be for York, who was arrested in Ohio in late August and pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing
criminal tools. The arrest stemmed from York's suspected involvement in engaging in prostitution. The charges were later amended to the two misdemeanors he ultimately pleaded no contest to.
