San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan didn't have to raise his voice after the team's Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins. His team throttled the hosting Dolphins, and after a performance like that, satisfaction did most of the talking.
"Hell of a job everyone in here, man," Shanahan told his team. "I believe we have a really good team, and that's what good teams should do."
The number that stood out most: San Francisco scored touchdowns on its first five possessions, something no Niners team had done in 40 years. Shanahan made sure the group understood the weight of that.

The offensive eruption was set up by quarterback Brock Purdy, who was nearly flawless. He completed
20-for-22 passes for 287 yards and two touchdowns, adding a rushing score for good measure, and at one stretch connected on 18 straight throws. His touchdown passes to George Kittle and Kyle Juszczyk on the first two drives of the third quarter effectively ended any competitive tension, pushing San Francisco's lead out of reach.
Purdy also found the end zone on the ground, part of a rushing attack that piled up three total touchdowns behind him and running back Christian McCaffrey's two touchdowns.
Shanahan credited the defense too, even with a late breakdown: "I know they moved it on us, but we kept them out of the end zone all game till the very end there," he said, before adding, "Lots we can do better, but lots of good stuff too to be proud of."
Purdy, energized, turned to his teammates with a message about not getting complacent this early in the season. "Let's watch the film, be hard on ourselves," he said. "We've got a high standard here, but everyone, man, complementary football. That's how it is, that's what we do to teams."
The 49ers finally return home to Levi's Stadium for a Week 3 divisional showdown with the Arizona Cardinals.
