Mike Evans and Christian McCaffrey were among nine San Francisco 49ers who did not practice Thursday as the team prepares to host the Washington Commanders on Monday night, per the team's practice report.
Evans is listed with ribs and Achilles injuries. He has dealt with the rib issue since Week 3, but the Achilles designation is new. McCaffrey is listed as a rest day and not related to an injury.
Here’s who did not participate Thursday:
- WR Mike Evans (ribs, Achilles)
- RB Christian McCaffrey (resting player)
- DE Nick Bosa (knee, calf)
- WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring)
- LT Trent Williams (resting player)
- DT Gracen Halton (quadriceps)
- DT James Thompson (ankle)
- S Marques Sigle (ankle)
- LB Garret Wallow (hamstring)
Bosa and Samuel weren't surprises given Samuel injured his hamstring in Week 5 and was a possible injured reserve candidate and Bosa is still recovering from his calf injury. The Halton injury seems to be new, though.
Seven others were limited: FB Kyle Juszczyk (knee), WR Christian Kirk (calf), T Colton McKivitz
(illness), S Siran Neal (neck), CB Upton Stout (shoulder), DE Mykel Williams (knee) and G Carver Willis (toe). Kirk has been designated to return from injured reserve.
WR Jacob Cowing (ankle) and DE Romello Height (hand) were full participants.
Williams, like McCaffrey, is listed as a resting player. He was banged up with a neck injury earlier this season. Juszczyk, Sigle and Stout all left the 49ers’ Week 4 win over the Denver Broncos, but it's good to see them at least getting limited sessions in. Juszczyk, who missed Week 5, is expected to be out for a few weeks after his knee injury against the Broncos.
Dre Greenlaw is not on the report, but he is serving a one-game suspension Monday nightafter the NFL upheld his punishment for headbutting a Seahawks player.
