The San Francisco 49ers won't have Deebo Samuel for awhile according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Shanahan on Monday in a conference call told reporters Samuel is "going to miss some time" and will be out "at least a couple of weeks" according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner and Adam Schefter.
Samuel hurt his hamstring in the third quarter of the 49ers' Week 5 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He limped to the sideline and was moving gingerly on the sideline during the game. The 49ers have a Week 6 game vs. the Washington Commanders at home and a Week 7 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons on the road before getting their Bye in Week 8.
It stands to reason Samuel will at the very least miss the Commanders and Falcons games. The Bye may give him an opportunity
to return in Week 9 vs. the Las Vegas Raiders, but it wouldn't be a surprise if he winds up missing more time than that.
Without Samuel the 49ers have Mike Evans, Jacob Cowing, Brandin Cooks and Jordan Watkins remaining among their receiving corps.
