San Francisco 49ers receiver Mike Evans is expected to play Sunday against the Denver Broncos despite fractured ribs. FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reported that Evans, who appeared to be in severe pain after suffering the injury, is slated to start for the 49ers in Week 4.
Evans will reportedly wear a protective vest to mitigate further injury aggravation, Glazer added.

Evans was carted off the field with a rib injury in last week's game against the Arizona Cardinals. He didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday and was limited Friday, which earned him a questionable designation
on the injury report. His status didn't change Saturday, leaving him a game-time decision until Glazer's report.
Evans has caught 12 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns for the 49ers. He should remain Brock Purdy's top target with a bevy of other pass-catchers out. Brandin Cooks is also expected to make his 49ers debut after signing to the practice squad recently.
