The San Francisco 49ers on Thursday officially announced the signing of defensive end Jah Joyner. They placed veteran defensive lineman Victor Dimukeje on injured reserve in a corresponding move.
Joyner entered the NFL in 2025 as an undrafted rookie with the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders let him go at the end of training camp last year and the former Minnesota Golden Gopher caught on with the Dallas Renegades and Houston Gamblers in the UFL. His signing was first reported Wednesday night.
Dimukeje is a five-year NFL veteran who was a sixth-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2021. He spent four seasons in Arizona and one year with the New York Giants before signing with the 49ers on Aug. 17 of this year. In 60 games he has 70 tackles and 4.0
sacks. The injury that landed him on IR is unclear. By going on IR before the cutdown to 53 players, Dimukeje's season is over unless he reaches an injury settlement with San Francisco.
