The San Francisco 49ers moved on from several players this past weekend to trim their roster down to 53 to comply with the league's rules for the regular season.
Among the players they cut was cornerback Darrell Luter Jr., who quickly found a new home when the Las Vegas Raiders claimed him off waivers. However, Las Vegas wasn't the only team vying for his services.
In fact, Luter was the most-claimed player on waivers after roster cuts, as five total teams submitted claims, including the Raiders, Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts.
It's very interesting that so many teamers were interested in Luter. San Francisco's fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft out of South Alabama appeared in 27 games over the last
three years and recorded just 38 tackles, one pass defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
These teams were likely hoping that Luter would thrive with more opportunities with a new situation, which certainly could be the case.
