The San Francisco 49ers on Thursday had a mixed bag of injury news on their practice participation report.
There were three changes from Wednesday's report, one of which was left tackle Trent Williams returning as a full participant after getting his usual rest day.
In a spot of good news, running back Christian McCaffrey returned to action in a limited capacity after missing Wednesday's practice while nursing a hamstring issue that cropped up in the 49ers' Week 7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Cornerback Upton Stout didn't have his status changed, but he did get out of a non-contact jersey. That good news was countered by an unfortunate development for wide receiver Christian Kirk. The veteran WR was limited by a knee injury Wednesday and then
missed Thursday's session. That doesn't bode well for his availability in Week 9.
