The San Francisco 49ers have had to make due without one of their best players the last couple of weeks, as defensive end Nick Bosa has been sidelined with a calf injury that he suffered in practice.
While it was originally believed that Bosa could miss significant time, and even possibly the rest of the season, he believes he could be back on the field in the near future.
According to NBC Sports' Matt Maiocco, Bosa said that he's "pretty darn likely" to play in the team's Monday night game against the Washington Commanders in Week 6.
That would be a huge boost to a 49ers defense that recorded two sacks in Week 3 and didn't take down Bo Nix even once in Week 4.
In his two games this year since returning from a torn ACL that ended his 2025 campaign
prematurely, he's recorded seven tackles, two tackles for a loss and one quarterback hit. Even if Bosa isn't getting home, he's still impacting most passing downs, as he can speed up a quarterback's decision-making or draw attention away from his teammates who can then recorded sacks or quarterback hits themselves.
Either way, it will be great to have Bosa back on the field whenever he gets out there.
