The San Francisco 49ers are gearing up for a divisional battle with the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium on Sunday, but they will likely have to play that game without one of their best players on the defensive side of the ball.
49ers defensive end Nick Bosa missed practice on Thursday with knee and calf injuries, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, he suffered the calf injury during practice and is expected to miss a few weeks. Schefter said the team could put him on injured reserve.
If the team decides to place him on injured reserve, which seems likely, he'll have to miss at least four weeks, but it could be longer.
This is a devastating loss for the 49ers, as we saw what the team's pass rush looked like last year without Bosa, and they recorded
the fewest sacks in the league. They'll need to add more to the pass-rush group because they won't be able to get by with just Keion White, Khalid Kareem, Ogbo Okornkwo and Romello Height (who is also injured).
