After folding in the second half last week against Alabama, Coach Will Stein and the Kentucky Wildcats refused to allow a repeat in week three. Kenny Minchey and his squad came out after halftime, and quickly turned a tie game into a three-score lead, and held on to get the upset over No. 9 Texas A&M 31-21.
The offense got off to a slow start, but began to hit their stride in the second quarter. Minchey heated up, and he found open receivers down the field including a perfect 50-yard strike to D.J. Miller. Then the offensive line and the running game took over. The Aggies made a valiant attempt at a comeback, but the defense held strong.
Minchey ended the game 14-of-18 for 252 yards and 2 touchdowns. They also ran for 156 yards and 2 more scores
on the day.
