The injury reports were released by the Kentucky Wildcats and the Alabama Crimson Tide on Wednesday night. These injury reports are mandatory for conference matchups, so we will update this weekly when Kentucky is facing an SEC opponent. This injury report has one big name on the Alabama side of things. Kentucky is coming into this massive matchup at full strength, with no starters on the injury report. Here's a look at where things stand mid-week with the health of the two rosters.
Kentucky
OUT- OL #79 Jay Clark
QUESTIONABLE- DB #1 Andre Clark Jr.- OL #50 Max Anderson- OL #55 Aba Selm
Kentucky is as close to 100% as they will be all season, with offensive lineman Jay Clark being the only player out for this football game. Clark is a backup that likely
will not be in the rotation this season. The three players that are questionable are corner Andre Clark, as well as offensive linemen Max Anderson and Aba Selm. These three players are not starters and will not be players that consistently see the field this fall unless injuries pile up.
Kentucky will have a few players back after missing the season opener. Both starting corners will be back with Terhyon Nichols and Hasaan Sykes. Starting right tackle Malachi Wood will also return to the lineup. Oklahoma transfer running back Jovantae Barnes will make his debut for the Wildcats as he was expected to be the RB2 this season, but after a strong showing from Jason Patterson against Youngstown State, we will see how that rotation looks on Saturday.
Alabama
OUT- WR #5 Noah Rogers- DB #16 Jorden Edmonds- LB #23 Cayden Jones- DB #29 Nick Sherman- DL #92 Jeremiah Beaman
QUESTIONABLE- HB #0 AK Dear- DB #10 Jireh Edwards
DOUBTFUL- OL #64 Michael Carroll
Alabama has a longer list of players on the injury report, but only a couple are impact players. The big one is starting right guard Michael Carroll listed as doubtful, as he is easily the best and most talented player on the Crimson Tide offensive line. This a massive development to watch because the Crimson Tide has a lot of unanswered questions up front, and being down their best start in that group would be a huge loss. Running back AK Dear is someone that could contribute to the Alabama running back rotation, but he is still dealing with a foot injury he suffered in fall camp.
