For the second time in his young NBA career, former Kentucky basketball star Rob Dillingham has been traded, as reported by ESPN's Shams Charania. The Chicago Bulls traded him to the Charlotte Hornets over the weekend, and he will get a fresh start back where he was raised.
The last Kentucky team to be coached by John Calipari was a talented one, with players that fans loved to watch. One of those players was guard Rob Dillingham, who dazzled with his ball skills and ability to make tough shots.
Dillingham was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs, but immediately traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was eventually dealt to the Bulls back in February, but on Saturday, they traded him to the Hornets for guard Buddy Hield and cash.
In his brief time
with the Bulls, Dillingham saw his playing time increase, and his stats improved as well. In the 30 games he played there, he averaged 9.6 points, 3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. With Kentucky, he averaged 15 points and 4 assists per game while shooting 44% from three-point range. He hasn't hit those heights at the professional level yet, but he's still talented, and will try to revive his promising career back home.
