In his tenure with Kentucky basketball so far, coach Mark Pope has proven to be very good at attracting top transfers, including top overall 2026 transfer Milan Momcilovic. One area where he has struggled, though, is in recruiting, but he's looking to change that in 2027. He's already gotten a commitment from four-star forward Ryan Hampton, and now is predicted to land center Cheriff Millogo.
On3's Joe Tipton (subscription required) entered an official prediction for Millogo to land with the Wildcats on Monday. It would be a terrific addition, and a second elite recruit in the 2027 class for Pope and his staff.
Millogo is a 7'5", 250 lb center out of California, though originally from West Africa. He is rated four stars by 247Sports, and is considered
a top 50 player universally, and is a ranked in the top ten by ESPN. Kentucky are now the favorites to land him, but he also has offers from Arkansas, Arizona, North Carolina, Louisville, and a number of other schools. He recently visited Lexington, and it went well.
There isn't a specific date set for a commitment by Millogo, but the Wildcats appear to be in a good spot. It's noteworthy that they hired Alfred Aboya, a former NBA Academy Africa coach who knows Millogo. We will continue to monitor his recruitment.
