What started as a terrific game for the Kentucky Wildcats football team turned into a nightmare in the second half, and ended in a 45-27 blowout loss to Alabama. They were outscored 32-0 in the second half and just couldn't break the Crimson Tide momentum.
Had the Wildcats won the game, they would have almost assuredly jumped into the US LBM Coaches Poll rankings. Instead they still received no votes, and Alabama jumped up into the top ten.
The SEC as a whole had a great week, and now occupy six of the top ten spots in the coaches poll. They're led by the Texas Longhorns, who jumped into the top overall spot after beating Ohio State. The Georgia Bulldogs still hold onto the No. 2 spot.
Overall, the SEC has nine teams ranked in the top 25, and another
five received votes this week. Only Kentucky and Arkansas didn't receive a single vote.
Kentucky will try again next week to get a big win, and maybe they'll get some votes. Here's the full results of this week's poll.
