The Kentucky football team went into Saturday needing to still prove themselves, despite beating South Carolina and Texas A&M, and playing well against Alabama. They ended the weekend with a win over LSU, and a top 20 ranking in the US LBM Coaches Poll. How did they are in this week's power rankings, though?
It was Kentucky's second straight overtime victory, and they certainly didn't play a clean game. However, they made plays at key moments, especially in the final moments of regulation, and in overtime, where Kenny Minchey called his own number and ran it straight up the middle or the win.
The Wildcats weren't the only big winners on Saturday either. The Oklahoma Sooners got a massive win in this year's version of the Red River Rivalry. South
Carolina bounced back with a solid win over the Florida Gators as well. The biggest SEC game this week was the Georgia Bulldogs win over the Crimson Tide. It featured two top ten teams and ended up being a three-point game.
So, what do this week's power rankings shake out after the action? Here are all 16 teams ranked from worst to first after week six.
16. Arkansas Razorbacks
- Last week: 16
- Result: Lost to Tennessee 24-17
The Razorbacks have pretty much locked up the No. 16 spot on this list for the season. They did keep things close with the Vols, but they're now 2-4 on the season.
15. Vanderbilt Commodores
- Last week: 14
- Result: Lost to Ole Miss 52-17
After a solid start to the season, Vandy has dropped to 3-3, and got blown out by the Rebels this week. They will try and rebound against Arkansas next week.
14. Texas A&M Aggies
- Last week: 11
- Result: Lost to Missouri 27-6
The offense has been hard to watch this season, and the Aggies have fallen to 3-3 with some ugly losses. Marcel Reed threw 2 more interceptions on Saturday, and may lose his starting job.
13. Florida Gators
- Last week: 10
- Result: Lost to South Carolina 38-19
The Gators started the season red hot, but have now been blown out two weeks in a row, and once by a South Carolina team that has struggled. Teams are not letting Jadan Baugh beat them.

- Result: BYE
The Tigers were off this week. They face Georgia next weekend in a huge test for them.
11. South Carolina Gamecocks

Getting Dylan Stewart back made a difference for the Gamecocks, and might have saved Shane Beamer's job. LaNorris Sellers played at an elite level once again.
10. Oklahoma Sooners
- Last week: 15
- Result: Beat Texas 27-24
The Sooners got a massive win over Texas just when it looked like their season was slipping away. The defense is one of the nation's best.
9. Mississippi State Bulldogs

- Result: BYE
The Bulldogs had a bye this week. They'll face LSU when they're back in action in week seven.
8. LSU Tigers
- Last week: 4
- Result: Lost to Kentucky 35-34
The Tigers played well offensively, but Sam Leavitt turned the ball over twice more. The defense couldn't get stops late in the game when it mattered most.
7. Kentucky Wildcats
- Last week: 8
- Result: Beat LSU 35-34
The Wildcats are making a habit out of dramatic wins. Coming from behind and winning in overtime isn't a sustainable way to play, but Kenny Minchey has been incredible in crunch time so far this year.
6. Tennessee Volunteers
- Last week: 5
- Result: Beat Arkansas 24-17
They got the win this week, but did have some trouble putting away an Arkansas team that hasn't been very good so far this season.
5. Missouri Tigers
- Last week: 7
- Result: Beat Texas A&M 27-6
Austin Simmons has the Tigers rolling, but Jamal Roberts has been fantastic running the football. He had over 200 yards rushing on Saturday.
4. Texas Longhorns
- Last week: 1
- Result: Lost to Oklahoma 27-24
Arch Manning had a tough outing against a good defense, and just made too many mistakes. Colin Simmons continues to be spectacular.
3. Alabama Crimson Tide
- Last week: 3
- Result: Lost to Georgia 20-17
Yeah, they lost this week, but to the number one team in the country, and in a close game. The ending was controversial, and the Tide are still capable of a national championship.
2. Ole Miss Rebels
- Last week: 6
- Result: Beat Vanderbilt 52-17
When the Rebels are good, they are very good. They dominated Vanderbilt on Saturday, and once again looked like a championship team.
1. Georgia Bulldogs
- Last week: 2
- Result: Beat Alabama 20-17
In their first big test of the season, Georgia shined and came away with a win. They're the new No. 1 team in the country.
