The Kentucky Wildcats volleyball team doesn't lose often, and they hadn't lost two in a row in some time. However, that's what happened last week with losses to the Tennessee Volunteers and Texas A&M Aggies in consecutive matches. On Friday, they ended that streak emphatically, beating Missouri 3-0 (25-16, 29-27, 25-17).
For the most part, Kentucky dominated the match. The second set was a highly competitive one that the Tigers led 24-22. The Wildcats roared back to tie it, and eventually take the set, ending it with a Brooklyn DeLeye ace.
DeLeye was terrific overall. She had 16 kills and 3 service aces to go along with 8 digs. Morgan Gaerte led the way for Kentucky with 19 kills and 7 digs. Kassie O'Brien was terrific as usual, recording 43 assists
and 7 digs. Lizzie Carr added 6 kills and 2 blocks.
The Wildcats are now 16-5 on the season, and have a week's break before their next match. They'll take on the Alabama Crimson Tide at next Friday at 7:00 P.M.
