What is the story about?

The Kentucky Wildcats weren't expected to stand much of a chance going on the road to Texas A&M and facing the top-ten Aggies in College Station, but Will Stein and his team believed they could pull the upset off. Stein, who commended his team for their week of practice leading up to this game, got a much-needed signature win after a blowout loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide last weekend.

The Cats and Aggies went into the halftime break tied up at seven. However, a massive Kentucky third quarter was all it really needed to put this one away. The Cats won that 15-minute period 21-0 and then lost the fourth quarter 14-3. They were able to score often because of how well quarterback Kenny Minchey was playing. He had an almost flawless game on Saturday,

and he performed far better than Aggies' starter Marcel Reed.

Minchey ended with 252 yards, 16 yards more than Reed, and two passing touchdowns. The biggest part of his game was that he didn't throw a single interception, which the Cats forced Reed to do twice.

Kentucky was able to free up Minchey some because of how well former five-star talent CJ Baxter performed. He ended with 19 carries, 87 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. Minchey was also aided by DJ Miller, who was his main threat and ended with 96 receiving yards.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish transfer, Minchey really failed to get anything going against Alabama, completing just 58.1% of his pass attempts and throwing his lone interception of the season in that home loss. With a date against South Alabama and then South Carolina on their schedule for Week 4 and Week 5, there's a good chance the Cats are able to go into a home matchup with the LSU Tigers at 4-1.

Thanks to Minchey and company, things are certainly looking brighter in Lexington on Sunday.
