Even in their national championship game run last year, theKentucky volleyball team suffered a few losses. Each time they did, though, the bounced back. Though there are some different faces on this year's squad, they retained that ability to bounce back, and on Friday night, they did it again. After losing their last match, they took down the LSU Tigers 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-19).
Morgan Gaerte is starting to look like she did before she was injured. She had 15 kills in this one, and a .500 hit percentage. Brooklyn DeLeye led the way, as she often does, with 15 kills. Kassie O'Brien had 34 assists.
Lizzie Carr was strong on the defensive end. She had 7 blocks to lead the way, while Gaerte and DeLeye had 4 apiece. Molly Tuozzo and Trinity Ward
has 12 and 11 digs each to lead the team.
The win moves Kentucky to 12-3 on the season, and 4-1 in SEC play. Next up for the Wildcats is a Sunday matchup against Ole Miss. That match will also be at home for the Cats as they look to begin another winnings streak that they hope will carry them back to the national championship game.
