The NFL trade deadline is four days away, and as of the time of publication, the Denver Broncos' backfield remains unchanged.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is the biggest name available, but the Colts have held firm with their high asking price. Consequently, "it appears Denver and Minnesota might be a little less inclined to trade for Taylor now," according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated
.Breer noted that the Giants remain "a serious suitor" for Taylor, but Indy is not expected to make a trade before their game on Sunday, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
If Taylor's price proves to be too much for Denver's front office, the Broncos might instead consider Breece Hall or Tony Pollard.
Meanwhile, "J.K. Dobbins’s name
was raised in some trade talks," according to Breer. With RJ Harvey on injured reserve, however, a potential Dobbins trade is "less likely now."
If Denver manages to land a high-profile running back before the deadline, shipping out Dobbins would make sense. As of now, though, Taylor's price appears to be too high. We'll see if anything happens on the Hall or Pollard front.
