The ribs injury suffered by Denver Broncos cornerback Riley Moss is "not long term," according to a report from KUSA-TV's Mike Klis. The exact timeline for a potential return is "still to be determined," but it's overall good news that Moss is not facing a long-term injury.
The Moss injury flew under the radar until he did not return to the field after halftime of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. Shortly thereafter, the Broncos announced him as questionable to return, but Moss never returned to the game. The 26-year-old cornerback recorded two tackles before leaving the contest.
Moss has totaled 32 pass breakups, three interceptions and one forced fumble since winning a starting job with the Broncos in 2024 (35 games).
After Moss
and Pat Surtain (ankle) both left Sunday's game, 2025 first-round draft pick Jahdae Barron and Kris Abrams-Draine played on the outside with Ja'Quan McMillian in the slot. Those are the only three healthy cornerbacks remaining on the active roster after the two injuries. The Broncos also have undrafted rookie Brent Austin and ex-UFL star Sean Fresch available on the practice squad.
