Justin Joly wasn't the only player the Miami Dolphins poached from the Denver Broncos on Monday.
In addition to claiming the rookie tight end off the NFL's waiver wire, the Dolphins also claimed ex-Broncos cornerback Reese Taylor, according to the NFL's transaction wire. Both players likely would have been top candidates for Denver's practice squad had they cleared waivers.
Taylor (5-9, 188 pounds) originally joined the Broncos' practice squad midway through his rookie season after entering the league as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2023. Taylor spent the last three seasons in Denver, bouncing between the active roster and practice squad. He totaled two tackles in five career appearances.
The Broncos have
an extremely stacked secondary, so Taylor was a long shot to make Denver's squad. He'll now get a fresh start in Miami as the Broncos move forward with Pat Surtain, Riley Moss, Ja'Quan McMillian, Jahdae Barron and Kris Abrams-Draine at cornerback.
