The Denver Broncos won a thrilling home game over the Los Angeles Rams this past Sunday, and after a slow start in Week 1, wins over back-to-back playoff teams from 2025 (the Jaguars and Rams) should help get the Broncos on the right foot.
As stated before, it’s never too early to look ahead to next year's draft. Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department created its 2027 NFL mock draft, and settled on the Broncos continuing their momentum of building solid rosters.
The Scouting Department believes Will Heldt would be a solid pick. for Denver in the first round of next year's NFL draft. Jonathan Cooper has an uncertain future, and Clemon's Heldt could be a great contingency plan.
“The Denver Broncos may feature the league's most complete roster,
but they should still place a premium on pass-rushing depth after John Franklin-Myers left in free agency and Douglas County, Colorado, police arrested Jonathon Cooper twice in June," B/R wrote. "... An investment in Clemson's Will Heldt next offseason will help stabilize this position group.”
If Heldt is available, the Broncos should consider him. The edge defender already has four sacks in the 2026 season. The 2027 NFL draft will be held in Washington, D.C., from April 29 to May 1.
