Denver Broncos left guard Ben Powers was fined $17,911 for a blindside block against the San Francisco 49ers that was not penalized during the game, according to KUSA-TV's Mike Klis. Powers will appeal that fine.
Meanwhile, just as he predicted, linebacker Alex Singleton's $17,911 fine for hitting a defenseless receiver in Week 2 has been rescinded after his appeal. "[A]ppeals officer James Trash agreed with Singleton’s case that [he] had eyes and head up and near goal line [where] told not to go low," Klis tweeted on Wednesday.
Singleton was penalized for his hit on Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange, but he remarked after the game that he expected a looming fine to be rescinded.
"Yeah, their coaches like to complain about people hitting
people," Singleton said after the Jags game. "So, I got a fine last year for it, I'll probably get this one rescinded, too. But, you know, they like to complain, as you've watched today."
Elsewhere on the fines front, guard Quinn Meinerz and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle appealed their $14,926 fines for a celebration in Week 3 and are awaiting a verdict.
