Heading into Week 7, the Denver Broncos take a trip south to take on the last of their NFC West opponents of the 2026 season, the Arizona Cardinals.
The Broncos and Cardinals have played just 12 times in the regular season in their team histories; the first matchup happened between the then-St. Louis Cardinals and the Broncos in 1973, a game which produced the series' only tie, a 17-17 draw.
After their second-ever game in 1977, the matchup took a 12-year hiatus before resuming in 1989. It has been played on a more regular basis since then.
The Broncos lead the all-time series between the two teams 10-1-1, outscoring the Cardinals all-time by a margin of 184 points (358-174), per The Football Database.
The most recent game in the regular season
between the two teams came in Week 15 of the 2022 season. Arizona traveled to Denver to take on the Brett Rypien and Nathaniel Hackett-ledBroncos. Two rushing touchdowns from Denver, courtesy of running backs Latavius Murray and Marlon Mack, were paired with a fourth-quarter Rypien touchdown pass to tight end Eric Tomlinson, giving the Broncos a 24-15 win in a very disappointing season.
The Broncos hope to keep the good times rolling in Arizona on Sunday, and push their record to 5-2 on the year. The two teams will play on Sunday, kicking off at State Farm Stadium at 2:05 p.m. MT.
