Since drafting quarterback Bo Nix in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos have become experts in the late-game comeback. Nix notched his latest come-from-behind win against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Down 17-10 going into the fourth quarter, Denver scored the final 13 points of the game to finish with a 23-17 final score to move them to 3-2 on the season.
Sunday marked Nix's 11th comeback of his career, per Pro Football Reference. He also has the most comeback wins in the NFL since 2024, leading a list above the likes of Dak Prescott, Caleb Williams and Patrick Mahomes.

Nix
has been a magician in the fourth quarter of games, often playing his best football and rallying his team from behind.
"It’s like there's like this glimmer," wide receiver Courtland Sutton said of Nix's comeback nature after yet another come-from-behind win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. "There's this glimmer in his eyes that's like, ‘Yes, I know y'all got me, and I got y’all. Let's go out there and go do it.’ I love Bo, and I love his competitive nature."
Nix's 11 comeback wins are second in Broncos history, only trailing to Pro Football Hall of Famer John Elway, who is credited with 31 fourth-quarter comebacks and captaining 40 game-winning drives. Nix is third in Broncos history with 13 game-winning drives, just behind Craig Morton, who had 14 game-winning drives in his career.
For good or for bad, Nix has established himself as a serious second-half threat. However, if the Broncos continue winning with last-minute heroics, emergency rooms might start filling up with all the heart palpitation patients who watch Denver on a weekly basis.
The Broncos will hope to turn things around when they come back to Denver to face the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. Fans can stream the game on Prime at 6:15 p.m. MT.
