Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix may be set up for a big year in 2026, and could even win MVP, according to former NFL quarterback and current NBC analyst Chris Simms.
In a conversation with Chris Rogers in which they discussed way-too-early picks for each of the NFL awards, Simms named Nix as his favorite as a dark horse MVP candidate going into the fall. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen topped the list of MVP odds, followed by Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
"Now, I think one of the things, and I don't know if this is right or wrong a little bit, but we do get in a little bit into the what's their seed in the playoffs becomes an MVP, right," Simms noted. "I'm gonna give you something
a little different here, though. And I did think about Justin Herbert, but I'm going Bo Nix. I think Bo Nix is going to show [out] this year. I expect them, first off, you know, I think they're going to win the Super Bowl. Going to be really good. ...
"I just love the way he even looked in the preseason. I think they're a team on the mission. And I think the negativity or the lack of belief behind Bo Nix. It has to stop. I mean, come on. The results are — they're too good for everybody to be questioning him. And yeah, I just think the team is damn good around him, too."

It's also something to note that Simms continues to rate Nix higher than his media counterparts, going so far as to say he is in the top half of quarterbacks in the NFL prior to OTAs in June.
Nix has been one of the top performers even among his 2024 quarterback draft class, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to have 10-plus wins and 30-plus total touchdowns in each of his first two seasons.
Nix is looking to have an even bigger year because of the weapons around him. With new wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and even the players returning from injury, such as running back J.K. Dobbins and wide receiver Pat Bryant, the Broncos can make some serious noise throughout the season, and even in the NFL awards department.
