Could the Denver Broncos trade for Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor?
It's certainly a fun hypothetical, but perhaps more of a fantasy than a realistic option at this point. Earlier this week, KOA Radio's Benjamin Allbright tweeted that the chances of Denver trading for Taylor are "extremely low."
"They’re more concerned with what they have and are trying to develop than trying to acquire high price new pieces," the Broncos insider wrote on Twitter/X.
Taylor, 27, was asked about the possibility of a trade earlier this week. "I haven't given it any thought," the running back said (via Colts Wire). Other NFL teams have certainly given it plenty of thought.
"Multiple teams would be open to a potential trade for Indianapolis Colts
running back Jonathan Taylor," ESPN's Stephen Holder wrote on Thursday. However, "it remains unclear whether the Colts are ready to unload players before the trade deadline."
With J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey and Jonah Coleman already on the roster, it's hard to imagine Denver making a splash trade for an expensive running back. The NFL's trade deadline is Tuesday, 10.
