Who won the running back battle between the Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason? Perhaps we'll find out on Sunday.
Going into free agency this spring, the Broncos targeted ex-Jaguars running back Travis Etienne. He ended up leaving Jacksonville, but not for Denver, opting to sign with the New Orleans Saints instead.
After losing Etienne in free agency, the Jaguars went after Broncos free agent running back J.K. Dobbins. Jacksonville nearly had a deal done with Dobbins before he decided to re-sign with Denver instead.
Even after re-signing Dobbins, the Broncos also went after Chris Rodriguez to add more depth to the backfield. The Jags also targeted Rodriguez, and they won that battle.
In the end, Jacksonville lost Etienne and
added Rodriguez, pairing him with Bhayshul Tuten. Denver missed out on Etienne and Rodriguez but managed to re-sign Dobbins, who splits work with RJ Harvey.
The Jaguars and Broncos are now set to face off on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. MT (view the TV broadcast map).
