In the Denver Broncos' second episode of "Jersey Swap," current starting quarterback Bo Nix interviewed one of his childhood heroes, former Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow. Both Nix and Tebow played in the SEC in college, Tebow for Florida, Nix for Auburn, and both were selected by the Broncos in the first round of their respective drafts.
"I remember growing up, watching Tim Tebow all over the place," Nix said in the interview. "He was my childhood hero, watching him playing for the Gators... I remember watching him throw the game-winning pass to DT in the playoff game against the Steelers; but I always grew up watching you."
Nix asked Tebow about the 2011 playoff win.
"First, I'll start with the atmosphere, because it was really — I got to play
in some special stadiums; I don't know that I've been in one where it felt like everyone was together as much as that night," Tebow said. "It was unreal. People stayed for an hour after the game... Players stayed forever! So many of us did; hugging, talking, praying, high-fiving, seeing fans."
Tebow asked Nix for his insight into the overtime win over the Buffalo Bills in January.
"I feel like this last season, we were (a) very close group," Nix said. "(On the last offensive possession of the fourth quarter), we get to (the Bills' 35), and we ran a double-move. Marvin (Mims) ran a great route, got great leverage, and Marvin does a great job tracking the football down the field. He tracked the ball in, got two feet in. And I remember that play, and that moment was one of those surreal moments: 'Is this really happening?' when life stops... Unfortunately, it ended on a negative note, but it really was one of those dream-come-true playoff games."
Throughout the 2025 season, Nix evoked memories of Tebow during the Broncos' stunning come-from-behind victory over the New York Giants, and in the divisional round of the playoffs. Nix was the first drafted Broncos quarterback since Tebow to win a playoff game for the Broncos.

The first episode of the "Jersey Swap" podcast featured pass-rushers Nik Bonitto and Von Miller exchanging stories and, of course, jerseys.
Nix hopes to put together a complete 2026, and pull off a feat Tebow didn't accomplish in Denver: taking his team to a title game.
