After stumbling out of the gate in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Denver Broncos could not afford a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. All day during the NFL action on Sunday, telecasts made mention of teams starting a season 0-2 and their playoff hopes taking a big hit historically.
After a lackluster first half, the Broncos were headed in that direction against a team that beat them at home last season. However, a big turnover in the late stages of the third quarter turned things in the Broncos' favor.
The Jaguars were at midfield, threatening to add to their 13-6 lead. Facing 3rd-and-6, Trevor Lawrence tried to hit Parker Washington on the sideline, but Riley Moss, in great position, made the interception. This play awakened
Broncos Country, and the momentum swung completely to Denver for the rest of the game.

Boy, did the Broncos need that.
To that point, the Broncos had only put two field goals on the board and had the Jaguars scored on that possession, things would have gotten quite concerning for the Broncos the way they were playing. Moss' play gave the Broncos a jolt on both sides of the ball and allowed them to use the energy built off of it to get their first win of the season.
Moss discussed the big play with the media after the game.
“Obviously that helped with momentum,” Moss said of the interception. “I'm just trying to do my part and have a positive play. It was nice to come down with one, I'll be honest with you. It hurt; I dropped probably a touchdown, which I'm going to lose a ton of sleep over tonight. But it was fun. It was fun being out there, and that was the energy that we needed.”
Denver cashed in on the turnover with a 7-yard touchdown pass from Bo Nix to Nate Adkins before later taking the lead for good on Jonah Coleman's first career touchdown run.
Moss finished the game with that interception and three pass breakups, marking his third game since 2025 with at least three PBUs, which is the most in the NFL during that span.
Moss rarely gets the recognition he deserves, but he's an incredibly important piece of this Denver team. If the Broncos start to have the success many expected them to this season, this play will be one we should all look back on.
It could go down as one of the biggest of the season.
