Former Denver Broncos inside linebacker Taurean York worked out for the Cleveland Browns on Friday, according to the NFL's transaction wire. This is at least the second tryout York has had since being cut by the Broncos in August (he previously worked out for the Kansas City Chiefs).
York (5-11, 226 pounds) was a high-profile undrafted free agent signing out of Texas A&M this spring. Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus had dubbed York one of his favorite prospects in the 2026 NFL draft class, and Brian Kelly named York his top sleeper in the class before the draft.
That pre-draft hype combined with the fact that York received Denver's largest UDFA contract and signing bonus made it appear that the linebacker could be a sleeper for the club's
53-man roster. Instead, no UDFAs made the Broncos' active roster, marking just the second time that has happened in the last 23 years.
Denver's moved forward with Alex Singleton, Justin Strnad, Karene Reid and Jordan Turner on the active roster while seventh-round draft pick Red Murdock provides more depth from the practice squad.
