Now that was a busy weekend.
Denver Broncos general manager George Paton and head coach Sean Payton were busy trimming the roster from 91 players down to an initial 53-man roster over the weekend, with most of the club's moves happening on Sunday.
In all, Denver ended up making 38 transactions: 34 roster cuts and three players placed on injury lists. Backup offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo (knee) was moved from the active/physically unable to perform (PUP) list to the reserve/PUP list, and tight end Caleb Lohner and offensive tackle Frank Crum were placed on short-term injured reserve.
Additionally, outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper was placed on the commissioner's exempt list.
Here's a quick look at all 38 moves the Broncos made to reach an initial
53-man squad.
