With the 2026 NFL regular season less than one week from kicking off, fantasy football is in full effect for the coming season.
You have likely had a fantasy draft or five by this point as the anticipation for the coming season grows. But before we get to Week 1, there is still time to look back on history, and fantasy football has a rich history.
Recently, Bleacher Report took on the painstaking task of ranking the 99 best individual fantasy football seasons ever. While the list could be subjective, two former members of the Denver Broncos made it.
Before we review the players and seasons that are on the list, let's take a look at some great individual seasons in Broncos history that could have been considered.
Honorable mentions
1. WR Demaryius Thomas: 2014
Demaryius
Thomas had one of the best seasons a wide receiver has ever had for the Broncos in 2014, catching 111 passes for 1,619 yards and 11 touchdowns. His 1,619 yards stands as a single-season record for the Broncos, breaking the mark of 1,602 set by Rod Smith in 2000.
2. RB Terrell Davis: 1997
Terrell Davis earned a spot on Bleacher Report's list, but his 1997 season wasn't too shabby, either. He rushed for 1,750 yards and 15 touchdowns that year.
4. RB Mike Anderson: 2000
As a rookie in 2000, Mike Anderson amassed 1,487 yards on the ground, which is still a top-10 rushing season for a rookie. He also found the end zone 15 times, earning him NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Not bad for a sixth-round pick.
5. RB Clinton Portis: 2003
Clinton Portis rushed for nearly 1,600 yards in 2003 and scored 14 touchdowns. He was traded to Washington the following year in a trade that netted the Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey. That trade would have never happened if not for this hugely successful 2003 campaign.
Now, let's take a look at the Broncos seasons that made Bleacher Report's list.
1. RB Terrell Davis: 1998
Davis became just the fourth player in NFL history to cross the 2,000-yard rushing mark in 1998, posting 2,008 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground. He added 217 yards receiving and two more touchdowns receiving. That resulted in 385.5 fantasy points that season, good for the No. 35 spot on B/R's all-time list.
2. QB Peyton Manning: 2013
Peyton Manning's 2013 season (No. 13 on Bleacher Report's list) was like a video game. If he was your team's quarterback that season, you almost certainly won your league. Manning threw for 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns, both single-season records that stand to this day, as part of one of the best offenses in NFL history.
Manning had 420 fantasy points that year.
