After losing Pat Bryant to a sprained ankle that could sideline him for "a few weeks," the Denver Broncos are down to four healthy receivers on the active roster.
Denver now has Jaylen Waddle, Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims available going into a Week 5 showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers. Franklin and perhaps Mims will likely be more involved on offense while Bryant is sidelined, and tight end Evan Engram could draw more targets as well.
The Broncos' leaders in targets through the first four games of the season are Waddle (26), Sutton (22), RJ Harvey (21), Engram (13) and Bryant (12). Franklin has four targets and Mims has three (Mims missed two games due to injury).
Broncos projected WR depth chart
- WR1: Jaylen Waddle
- WR2: Courtland Sutton
- WR3: Troy Franklin
- WR4: Marvin Mims
Denver also has Lil'Jordan Humphrey, Michael Bandy, Kolbe
Katsis and Dane Key available on the practice squad. Humphrey was just demoted from the active roster to the practice squad last week, so if Bryant lands on short-term injured reserve, it wouldn't be surprising to see LJH back on the 53-man roster.
If the Broncos place Bryant on IR, he will have to sit out at least four games before being eligible to return against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8.
