Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton was a huge part of the defensive effort against the Arizona Cardinals in a 30-16 win on Sunday. Singleton led all defensive players with a whopping 19 total tackles in the victory, earning AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts.
Singleton is the second Broncos defender to win the award this season, joining safety Talanoa Hufanga. Overall, Singleton is the 11th linebacker in franchise history to take home the honor.
Singleton's big game marked the 30th time in his career that he had double-digit tackles in a game, the fourth-most among any player in the league since 2022. The 19 tackles also represented the third-most tackles Singleton had in a game in his career.
A defensive captain of the
team since 2024, Singleton calls the plays for the defense and is an important part of the unit that has been one of the NFL's best for several seasons now.

Singleton has been a tackling machine for the entirety of his career in Denver, recording at least 135 tackles in every season with the Broncos, with the exception of the 2024 season, when he tore his ACL in Week 3. As of the end of Week 7, Singleton currently leads the NFL with 87 total tackles, including a league-leading 43 solo tackles.
Singleton looks to have another huge game in Week 8, against the division-leading Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. If Denver beats the Chiefs, they will move into first place in the division and have a leg up on KC down the stretch.
Let's hope the Broncos can pull it out on Sunday.
