Although the Denver Broncos (2-2) head into Week 4 against a winless Los Angeles Chargers (0-4) squad, they know it won't be easy. With the Chargers seeking their first win of the season, one could argue this could make them more dangerous than if they had a few wins under their belt. They will come out with the best shot they have to try and knock off the Broncos as Denver travels to California for the second time in two weeks.
For coach Sean Payton, though, the Broncos won't be looking at the record; they will prepare for Los Angeles as they would any other opponent.
"For me, it’s the scheme study, the personnel study and not as much the end result [of their games]," Payton said on Wednesday in his press availability. "They had five takeaways
in Buffalo, they’ve been ahead in a number of games, they’ve started actually really well. So the focus really becomes on the personnel of the opponent and how they’re playing their defense and offense and kicking game.”
Wide receiver Courtland Sutton knows the Broncos cannot fall into a trap game against the Chargers, especially since they see them twice per year. Despite them being winless right now, that could change at any time.
"At the end of the day, we gotta go play each team,“ Sutton said on Wednesday. "Each week, you gotta go out there and you’re gonna get each team’s best. Whether they’re sitting with one win, no wins, two wins, three wins, whatever it may be, you’re gonna get teams’ best. And every team has players and coaches that get paid to game plan and go out and execute. There’s never a game where you feel as if it’s a lesser opponent.”

The Broncos will look to not fall to 2-3 by giving their rivals a win that could be crucial at the end of the year. Denver's going to take the matchup seriously, and they need to after a sluggish start to the season.
