Levelle Bailey's season is over.
The Denver Broncos have designated the third-year inside linebacker as waived/injured, according to a report from KUSA-TV's Mike Klis. Once he clears waivers, Bailey will revert to the team's injured reserve list.
Because he will land on IR before the initial 53-man roster is set, Bailey won't be eligible to return this season unless he reaches an injury settlement and is released from IR. Bailey broke his leg in Denver's preseason opener last week.
With Bailey out for the season, the team's remaining backup linebackers are Karene Reid, Jordan Turner, Red Murdock and Taurean York. Those four defenders are competing for roles behind starters Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad. The Broncos might also consider bringing
up a veteran free agent to shore up the depth at ILB.
To fill Bailey's old spot on the 91-man offseason roster, Denver signed safety Taylor Rapp, who now appears to be a strong candidate to serve as the No. 3 safety behind Brandon Jones and Talanoa Hufunga in 2026.
