The Denver Broncos found a way to win their 15th one-score game in a row, this one another come-from-behind, 28-24 special against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon in Week 8 from Empower Field at Mile High.
The Chiefs led for the majority of the game, and it came down to the final play of the game in order for Denver to pull out the win, but it really came down to a battle of the quarterbacks. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes kept hitting big play after big play, while Bo Nix took a 15-minute break in the third quarter before mounting the comeback.
Both quarterbacks threw for over 200 yards (Mahomes over 300), and combined for five passing touchdowns during the game. The two competitors met on the field after the game, where they had
some words for each other.
"Hell of a game, dawg," Mahomes said to Nix. "Hell of a game, buddy."
"I've already (unintelligible)," Nix said. "I was watching you play. You did a great job."
"I appreciate it, man," Mahomes says back. "We'll see you all again."
"I was scared to death when you got the ball back," Nix said.
"Yeah, yeah, thank you," Mahomes said to end the conversation

For now, the Broncos and Chiefs won't see each other again until the postseason, as they've played both their games through eight weeks. Right now, the Chiefs would be the projected sixth seed if the season ended today, while Denver would be the second seed.
The Broncos now control their own destiny and are in control of the AFC West at the moment. They hope to continue their momentum into Week 9 when they go on the road to face the Carolina Panthers.
