The Denver Broncos have promoted fullback Adam Prentice from the practice squad to the 53-man roster ahead of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers, according to the Denver Gazette's Chris Tomasson. Denver will need to make a corresponding move to create a spot for Prentice on the active roster.
Prentice maxed out his three practice squad elevations through the first three weeks of the season. The Broncos wanted him on their game-day roster in Week 4, and the only option to get him there was a full promotion.
Prentice only played four snaps on offense last week, but he played 20 snaps on special teams. He's been a reliable blocker for Denver, both on running plays and in pass protection.
Prentice has served as the Broncos' fullback since
last season, dressing for all 17 games in 2025. He picked up seven first downs on ten carries last fall and three first downs on six receptions. Prentice scored two touchdowns in preseason this summer, but he's just to be utilized as a runner in the 2026 regular season.
