The Denver Broncos brought in four wide receivers and two cornerbacks for workouts on Tuesday, according to the NFL's transaction wire.
The Broncos hosted wide receivers Cam Ross, Jamari Thrash, Nick Nash and Brenden Rice. Denver also hosted defensive backs Paul Manning and Ayo Oyelola. Ross won the tryout and was signed to the practice squad.
Ross (5-10, 186 pounds) totaled five receptions for 29 yards, rushed twice for 21 yards and returned seven kicks for 64 yards in preseason this summer after signing with Denver as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia. After initially failing to make the 53-man roster or 17-player practice squad in August, he's now back with the team.
Thrash (6-0, 190 pounds) totaled 13 receptions for 129 yards through
his first two seasons in the NFL since being picked by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL draft out of Louisville.
Nash (6-3, 195 pounds) is a second-year player who entered the league as a UDFA out of San Jose State with the Atlanta Falcons in 2025. After spending his rookie season on Atlanta's practice squad, Nash went to training camp with the Washington Commanders this summer.
Rice (6-2, 208 pounds) is the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice. The younger Rice has spent time with five NFL teams since entering the league as a UDFA out of USC with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024, but he is yet to record a catch in a regular season game.
Manning (6-0, 188 pounds) went to camp with the Broncos this summer after joining the team as a UDFA out of Henderson State. Oyelola (6-0, 213 pounds) has bounced between the CFL and NFL since 2021. The London-born defensive back is yet to appear in a regular-season game in the NFL.
Denver's thin at cornerback after losing Pat Surtain (ankle) and Riley Moss (ribs) to injuries. The Broncos could also use more depth at wide receiver with Pat Bryant (ankle) sidelined.
6 players worked out for Broncos
- WR Cam Ross (signed to practice squad)
- WR Jamari Thrash
- WR Nick Nash
- WR Brenden Rice
- CB Paul Manning
- DB Ayo Oyelola
After adding Ross, Denver's going into Week 5 with a full 17-player practice squad and active roster, so the team would have to make a corresponding roster move to make room for any more additions.
